PGA staff performed telecommunications consulting and engineering for inside and outside fiber optic cable plant, data center computer rooms and infrastructure, wireless communications systems to include 5 different cellular carriers, the Harris County Public Safety Radio Network, distributed antenna systems, and local and wide area network integration. The constructions costs for the facility’s final configuration are expected to be $22 Million.

 

The AOC/EOC will consist of an airport operations facilities housing various airport and agency communications, operations and administrative functions, emergency operations center and related support facilities and utilities, and an information technology main distribution facility. Agencies using the facility will include Airport Operations, Houston Police and Fire Department, and the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

 

The AOC/EOC is being designed as a hardened data center facility meeting the Uptime Institute Tier 3 redundancy requirements and able to withstand a sustained Category 3 hurricane and an undisclosed level of terrorist threat.
