In a teaming arrangement with Cobb, Fendley and Associates, PGA provided fiber optic, data network, wireless, and security design to link both sides of the Houston Ship Channel at Turning Basin Terminal. To accomplish this, a directional bore technique was designed approximately 150 meters long and 20 meters deep. The existing wireless link across the channel will become the secondary mode of communications and the new fiber optic cable will be the primary. PGA is also providing transition strategies to minimize downtime while the cutover takes place due to the critical and security sensitive nature of the link.
