George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston, Texas

United Airlines built a new 14 gate passenger terminal, New Terminal C North, to replace the existing Terminal building which opened in 2017. PGA is the engineer of record for acoustical modeling and public address system design. The floors are 100% hard surface Terrazzo. The walls are large plate glass, and the ceilings are roughly 75% acoustical tile. The width can range from 35 to 115 feet, and height from 10-65 feet depending on what acoustical zone you’re in. Most of the building is an acoustically difficult space which is consistent with many airports. PGA developed a comprehensive, distributed IP design that included paging zones, 6 speaker types including column array, servers, amplifiers, and IP input/output devices. Notably, Engineer News Record (ENR) Texas & Louisiana's 2017 Best Airport/Transit Project was awarded to this project!
