Houston Hobby Airport, Satellite Central Utility Plant

To support a substantial increase in terminal space due to the new Southwest Airlines FIS terminal, the Houston Airport System is building a new Satellite Central Utility Plant (SCUP). The new SCUP will replace the existing central plant which can no longer support the current growth of the airport and is at the end of its service life. The SCUP will be located outside of the main airport building to adequately serve future demands. PGA Engineers was selected as the Security and Telecommunications Design Consultant for all low voltage systems and has responsibility to integrate the new facility into the existing infrastructure. PGA is also performing coordination’s with all telecommunications service providers to relocate their entrance service through a new pathway designed by PGA.
