Tarrant County College, Security Master Plan

Tarrant County College serves the Fort Worth, Texas metro area and includes 4 campuses and over 40 buildings with an enrollment of approximately 43,000 students. PGA Engineers was selected to participate in the development of a comprehensive Security Master Plan for Tarrant County College. During Winter Storm Yuri in 2021, Tarrant County College lost power at all campuses. Buildings without adequate emergency power and battery back-up lost security systems including access control and video surveillance leaving all campuses and buildings vulnerable to security threats. PGA conducted a comprehensive electrical systems audit and is in the process of developing a mitigation strategy that will keep all security systems operational during short and prolonged power outages.
